People have said just a superchip or edge/bully dog would be as good instead of installing a chip. Let me know what everyone thinks, or if they have better reccomendations. Also curious if anyone thinks I should add pyro gauges for tranny temps, exharst temps, and boost? Will I get too hot? I am curious who has a dp tuner, what kind of performace they have got, and if these sound like reasonable tunes for what loads I pull. I thought about also getting these additional ones. He figured that with these settings I wouldn't have to change stock exhaust or intake. Jody reccommended the F5 position switch with these settings. I am curious if anybody has dp tunes and which ones. The truck is an automatic with 3.55 axle ratio.
Load can get anywhere from 13,000 up to 19,000lbs. I usually pull a 20 or a 24 ft stock trailer with livestock (cattle). Everything I have is stock as of right now. Ea tuner has different strategies on their tuning.I am looking at purchasing a DP tuner for my 1997 Ford powerstroke diesel. I plan to experiment with various tunes in the future which is another plus of the TS style chips. You then burn the tunes to your chip no need to ever send in the chip. If/when you get to the point of needing custom tunes they are downloaded onto a server that the FU software access's. I personally like the FU which gives you access to approx 20 different tunes for your truck that you can use, switch, etc any time you like. There are some that can sell you the TS burner and software to allow tunes to be emailed to you as well. I believe you download the files to the F6 yourself. Tunes are sent to you so you do not need to send your chip in for reburns. TS style chip with tunes of choice or DP tuner are going to be the recommendations. As mentioned you need to do supporting mods first.
